Your saved data stays in Local Memory’s private app storage on your device. Core document processing, Search and Ask work without Internet access. No cloud AI, app analytics or tracking is required.

V1 has no automatic cloud sync or app-managed backup. Keep important original documents elsewhere.

Does Local Memory work offline?

Core document processing, Search and Ask work without Internet access. Downloading the app, visiting this website or retrieving a file from an external cloud provider may require a connection.

Is Ask an AI chatbot?

No. Ask uses supported question patterns to retrieve payment due dates, purchase merchants and insurance policy numbers from confirmed saved fields. It does not provide general-purpose chat or invented answers.

Where is my data stored?

Saved records and imported source copies use private app storage on your device. See the privacy policy for the current Android implementation.

What happens if I lose my phone?

You may permanently lose saved Memories and source copies. Local Memory cannot recover them from a cloud account. Keep important originals elsewhere.

Does Local Memory back up my data?

V1 has no automatic cloud sync or app-managed backup. The current Android app also excludes its saved data from Android backup and device transfer. Uninstalling or clearing app storage can permanently remove your data.
