Privacy policy

Local Memory AI is the name used on this website and for the Google Play listing. The installed app currently appears as Local Memory.

This policy covers the Local Memory app and this website. Android launches first; iOS is planned and is not currently available. Platform-specific details below describe Android only.

Information you choose to save

Local Memory processes information you provide, including Memories, Things, reminders, document details, notes and source documents. Saved records and imported source copies are stored locally to provide the features you use.

Documents and on-device processing

OCR recognizes document text on your device. Semantic processing suggests useful details locally. Suggested model output is not directly persisted as confirmed records: you review and correct the details, then explicitly choose Save. Imported source copies and temporary capture files may be stored locally as part of this workflow. Cloud AI processing is not required.

Search and supported Ask

Search and Ask run locally over saved information. Ask follows supported question patterns for payment due dates, purchase merchants and insurance policy numbers. It reads confirmed saved fields and is not a general chatbot.

Current Android implementation

The Android app package is dev.localmemory.app.

• Storage: saved records and imported source copies use Android app-private local storage.
• Capture and import: the app opens your camera app and Android photo/file-selection interfaces. It accesses the image or PDF you choose. Other apps and file providers have their own privacy practices.
• Notifications: notification permission enables reminder delivery. Reminder titles may appear on the lock screen according to Android settings. You can manage notification permission in Android settings.
• Network: the Android app has no INTERNET permission. It does not upload your saved records or documents to our servers or cloud AI. Core document processing, Search and Ask work offline.
• Backup: Android backup and device-transfer exclusions are configured for the app’s saved data.

These Android implementation details are not claims about a future iOS version. Verified iOS details will be added before that version is released.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

Local Memory includes no app analytics, advertising or tracking. Saved content is used locally to provide the app’s features, not uploaded for advertising or cloud AI processing.

Retention, sync and backup

Local Memory is designed to keep your important memories and source documents on your device. V1 does not include automatic cloud sync or app-managed backup. Saved data remains locally until removed through available app controls, app-storage clearing or uninstall. Local Memory has no cloud copy from which to restore it. For irreplaceable originals, keeping another copy provides an extra safeguard.

Deletion and data loss

Use available in-app deletion controls to remove records. On Android, clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling removes its local data. This does not delete original documents kept outside Local Memory. Losing or damaging your device can permanently remove saved Memories and source copies. We cannot recover local records for you.

This website

This website intentionally adds no analytics, advertising, tracking scripts or cookies. Cloudflare hosts the website and may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support history, and meet applicable legal obligations.
